Biography
With a Masters degree in Hospital and Health Administration and a Masters
degree in Counseling Psychology, Gary Sweeney has worked for and consulted
with a variety of organizations during the past eighteen years. Gary has
been a hospital administrator for several large proprietary health care
companies. He has successfully started partial hospitalization programs and
a continuum of outpatient services. During his tenure with the Franciscan
Sisters of the Poor Health System, he was responsible for the operations of
pre-hospital programs - including occupational health and urgent/primary
care facilities. There he led projects that resulted in the formation of a
physician group practice organization and construction of two medical office
buildings. In addition, he initiated the creation of a skilled nursing unit
in one of the system's medical/surgical hospitals, while overseeing two
long-term care facilities and a free-standing psychiatric hospital.
Gary also has extensive experience in contract management. He has provided
regional oversight for the operations of a number of inpatient and
outpatient programs. He served as Vice President of Business Development for
PMR Corporation.
Recently, Gary has been working in a full-time consulting capacity,
specializing in projects that involve strategic/business plan development
for healthcare computer software companies, physician organizations and
managed care entities. |
